Chapadmalal

Leaving the city of Mar del Plata, along the southern coastal road and about 8km from the lighthouse, when the road is dressed in green by the lush trees that await you at the side of the road, you will be in Chapadmalal territory.

A few kilometers away a new postcard will surprise you: La Barranca de los Lobos, which rises imposingly 25 meters above sea level, with an incredible view of the infinite vastness of the sea.

From there to the right of the road you will find a series of picturesque neighborhoods, where the essence of living in them is to close an intimate and harmonious contact with nature.

Traditionally it is where the farms and ranches of the region are located, where nature takes its greatest splendor. Countryside, cliffs, agricultural areas, organic orchards, beach, streams and the most beautiful valleys just minutes from the city. Saying Chapadmalal is synonymous with nature, surfing and good customs.

Transportation

Arriving to Chapadmalal

Once people arrive at the Ezeiza International Airport (Buenos Aires), as we consider that they can arrive on different planes and at different times, AFT staff will be waiting for them and will take them to the private BUS, which will take them to Mar Del Plata. This company is the best in transfers from Buenos Aires to Mar Del Plata, it is private and the most frequent in the route that the client must do. Once they arrive at Mar Del Plata, other people on the AFT team will be welcoming them.

In Mar del Plata we will have for the Surf trip days, two Vans Mercedez-Benz with capacity for 20 people each, available for the use and coordination of the different activities, these Vans will also be available at the front door of the Ranch offering transfers daily to our other house in the city “AFT Casa del Mar”, with scheduled times to go shopping in the supermarket, to go to the city to see places after surfing or to ride a bike along one of the most beautiful boulevards in the world.

Week Schedule explanation: Welcome meeting to describe and explain the schedule of the week have planed and info about the place and the surrounding.

One of the virtues of the surf coast in Mar del Plata is that it is always sheltered from all winds, that is why the surf schools are located in 2 different points of the city which allows more options depending on the winds that affect the sea.

The best spot in Mar del Plata will be searched in a distance of 40 kilometers, since the coast is very varied and adapts to different conditions, while information on winds, tides and swell direction will be provided so that this level understands how our seas work.

Waves of Mar Del Plata

Beginner and Intermediate Level
Either with or without swell, with winds from the south, north or west, there is always a wave opening to the left or right with easy on the coasts of Mar del Plata, which do not present any difficulty or fear for a beginner surfer or intermediate.

Pointbreaks

If the winds are from the South / Southwest / Southeast, point breaks are protected from these winds and most point breaks have waves that break slowly so that a beginner or intermediate can have time to read the wave. All breakpoints have channels entrance to the peak.

Los beach breaks

If the winds are from the North / Northwest / Northeast, there are beach breaks that are repaired from winds that work perfectly to take classes for beginners and intermediates. All beach breaks have channels to enter the peak, some present more difficulty than others.

Advanced Level
Autumn in Argentina has an incredible wave quality, point breaks to do 7 maneuvers, beach breaks to get barreled, and different types of scenarios such as: surfing in front of a cliff, surfing on a large beach in front of the city, surfing in front to sand dunes, scenarios that add magic to the surf session.

Pointbreaks for advanced

If the winds are from the south / southwest / southeast. The best waves present a little more risk when sitting with locals around and waiting your turn to run your wave, but this wave has such good quality that you will feel that you can do any maneuver, it is like a canvas with more sections stops than others, waiting for you to do that maneuver you want so much. The accesses to the waves are easy since there are always channels.

Beach breaks for advanced

If the winds are from the North / Northwest / Northeas. When the sea conditions are given, the beach breaks of Mar del Plata advanced surfers can get tubed, or practice maneuvers of more impact, the access to the waves can Being more complicated, beach breaks have channels but present more difficulties to reach the peak.

In Argentina in Autumn, surfing is done with a 3.2 suit, we have the best Quiksilver suits for all participants of the stay, we also guarantee the best board equipment for all levels. The equipment will be available in our house, all week to use freely.

Travel insurance is not included and is mandatory. Your passport must be valid for 6 months beyond your date of entry. Plane tickets are not included.
